Denmark (EU member, VAT 25%) has some of the highest VAT in the EU, so import VAT charges can be significant (25% of item value). Make sure the recipient expects this to avoid surprise.
Restrictions: Denmark follows EU rules closely. They have strict weapons laws, knives with certain blade mechanisms (switchblades, butterfly knives) are prohibited. Don't send any self-defense items like pepper spray (illegal in DK). Alcohol above certain percentages can't be mailed without license (and as gifts only small quantities); even though it is technically possible with licenses, Polimark—like most shippers—does not accept alcohol in parcels.
Duty free rules: Standard EU thresholds. Denmark is known for efficiently clearing parcels; most shipments from Canada clear within a day if paperwork is in order. Greenland & Faroe Islands: We do not ship to Greenland or the Faroe Islands; mainland Denmark only.
Delivery: Provide a Danish phone number and email; recipients often get SMS/email prompts to pay VAT or arrange delivery. Delivery time ~5 days to Copenhagen, maybe up to 7 for Jutland or smaller towns.
