Additional Information

Greece (EU, VAT 24%) has the same import rules, but sometimes slower customs processing compared to northern Europe.

Prohibited items: Standard EU banned items (weapons, drugs, etc.) apply. Greece also restricts import of archaeological artifacts or ancient coins – obviously, one shouldn't ship antiquities, but even replicas might raise eyebrows. If you're sending something like old books or art, make sure it's clearly declared (to distinguish from actual antiquities). Food items: Greece has agricultural restrictions; for example, don't send olive plants or olive products that aren't commercially sealed, due to pest concerns.

Duties: Standard thresholds. Greek customs will charge VAT 24% on non-gift goods over €45. They might also charge a small fee for processing (customs presentation fee) on parcels – a few euros that the carrier passes on.

Delivery: GLS and partners handle most parcels. Greek addresses can be long; ensure you include the district or area. We ship mainland Greece only—no islands. Advise recipients in Greece to be responsive; sometimes customs might require them to provide AFM (tax ID) or an ID number for clearance if it's a high-value shipment. This is more common for business shipments.

Greece is an EU member state. For complete EU shipping guidelines, prohibited items, and packaging requirements, view our EU Shipping Guide .

We do not ship alcohol, tobacco, prescription medicines, cannabis, or similar restricted goods. Mainland delivery only; island deliveries are not available.

Delivery & Pickup in Greece (GLS via ACS Courier)

GLS's last-mile partner in Greece is ACS S.A. Mainland delivery only; island/remote areas can affect transit time.

Delivery pattern

  • In Greece, GLS parcels are handled by the local GLS partner (ACS Courier).
  • Delivery attempts, notifications, and pickup-point handling follow the partner's local process shown in tracking/SMS.

Pickup window (ACS lockers / pickup)

  • If delivered to an ACS locker, pickup time is typically 3 days.
  • If not collected in time, the parcel may be moved from the locker to a store pickup location for an additional (typically) 3 business days (recipient is notified).

Need help with tracking or delivery?

Your Polimark tracking number works from Canada all the way through final delivery. In most cases, this is the only tracking number you'll ever need.

How local delivery tracking works (rarely needed)

Once your parcel reaches Greece and is handed to ACS (the local final-mile carrier for GLS), a local courier tracking ID may be generated. This local ID is automatically linked to your Polimark tracking behind the scenes.

  • Most customers never need to use this local tracking ID.
  • Polimark remains your primary point of contact for tracking updates and delivery questions.

When would I need the local tracking ID?

Only in uncommon situations, for example:

  • A recipient wants to manually change a delivery date
  • A pickup point selection needs to be adjusted directly with the local carrier

If that ever happens, just contact us and we'll provide the local tracking ID for you.
