Important customs and shipping information

VAT & Duties (EU)

VAT Rate: 23%

Gift Threshold: Up to €45 (private-to-private gifts)

Duty-Free Threshold: Up to €150 ⚠️ EU duty-free threshold changes to €0 on July 1, 2026

Additional Information

Poland (EU, VAT 23%) is a large EU market.

Prohibited items: Standard prohibitions (no weapons, drugs, etc.). Poland additionally keeps an eye on historical items. WWII artifacts, for example, could be an issue if you tried to import them without permission. Otherwise, nothing unusual.

Customs: EU thresholds apply. Polish customs may sometimes ask for an identification number (PESEL or Tax ID) for high-value shipments, but generally not for routine personal gifts.

Delivery: Include the postal code (five digits) and the street and building info clearly. Note that in Poland, the building and apartment numbers might be formatted like "Street 5/20" (meaning building 5, apt 20). Make sure that's on the label. If the recipient has to pay VAT/duty, the postal carrier might only accept cash on delivery, so it's good for them to track and see if any fee is due (couriers often provide an online pay link though).

Poland is an EU member state. For complete EU shipping guidelines, prohibited items, and packaging requirements, view our EU Shipping Guide .

We do not ship alcohol, tobacco, prescription medicines, cannabis, or similar restricted goods.

Delivery & Pickup in Poland (GLS)

Poland is a major EU gateway; final-mile is GLS Poland.

Home delivery window

  • GLS delivers on working days Monday to Friday (Saturday delivery may exist if the sender selected it).

Pickup / return timing

  • If the recipient isn't home, the courier leaves a notification letter and typically attempts delivery again on the next business day.
  • With FlexDeliveryService, the recipient can redirect even while the parcel is in transit (e.g., to a Szybka Paczka point, another address, safe-place delivery, or change delivery date).
  • If delivered to a Szybka Paczka point: pickup is typically available for the next 7 days.
  • If delivery attempts fail and the parcel returns to the branch: it can be returned to the sender after 6 working days (branch pickup may be possible before return).

Need help with tracking or delivery?

Your Polimark tracking number works from Canada all the way through final delivery. In most cases, this is the only tracking number you'll ever need.

How local delivery tracking works (rarely needed)

Once your parcel reaches Poland and is handed to GLS Poland (the local final-mile carrier), a local courier tracking ID may be generated. This local ID is automatically linked to your Polimark tracking behind the scenes.

  • Most customers never need to use this local tracking ID.
  • Polimark remains your primary point of contact for tracking updates and delivery questions.

When would I need the local tracking ID?

Only in uncommon situations, for example:

  • A recipient wants to manually change a delivery date
  • A pickup point selection needs to be adjusted directly with the local carrier

If that ever happens, just contact us and we'll provide the local tracking ID for you.
